November 2024
Dear SJEEC Families,
October was a fun-filled month! Some highlights from the past month included:
Our Halloween Parades and Carnival
Enrichment’s field trip to the local bike shop, Ride Home
Spooky yoga and music classes
Our whole school field trip to the pumpkin patch
The St. John’s Episcopal Church’s annual Christmas Giving Project has kicked off and we are excited to be part of this valuable outreach service to our neighbors at Worthington Kilbourne Middle School! The church staff have been hard at work contacting families and creating a list of gifts for some of the KMS students and their siblings. The church created an electronic giving tree and you can find the list by clicking here. Please return your gifts to the school office by December 8th, unwrapped (with a gift receipt and box if possible) and identified by Family and Child (i.e. Family F – Male – 6). If you prefer not to shop, you can donate money or gift cards to places like Walmart, Target or Kohl’s by December 1st and the church will shop for you. Please note, if the link above does not work for you, contact Christine Rees, christiner@stjohnsworthington.org. Thank you in advance for helping families in need make this Christmas very special!
Our SJEEC t-shirts and sweatshirts will be on sale again this month—just in time for the holidays! We will be offering new color options as well. The Awesome Company puts this online store together for us and when you purchase from them, you are not only supporting St. John’s Early Education Center, you are also supporting autistic adults in our community. Learn a little more about their mission from this excerpt from their website: “We believe it takes a diverse workforce to make a business truly awesome. 95% of autistic adults are either unemployed or underemployed. At the Awesome Company we are changing that. The more t-shirts and custom apparel we sell, the more autistic adults we can hire. It’s that simple, folks. That is our goal. That is our passion. Join us and make being inclusive AWESOME.” We love their mission and think you will too. The link to our store will go live by November 13th and will be sent out in an email and available on our website.
Some important dates you will want to add to your calendar are:
Nov. 7th-Enrichment Field Trip to the Orange Johnson House
Nov. 11th-Fire Truck will visit our school
Nov. 21st-Thanksgiving Feasts for three year old classrooms
Nov. 25th-Thanksgiving Feasts for four and five year old classrooms
Nov. 26th-No SCHOOL for Parent/Teacher Conferences

We still have some spaces open in both our three year old classrooms and our four & five year old classrooms. Please let interested families know about your experience at St. John’s. We would love to give them a tour and to tell them about our highly qualified teachers.
Thank you for being a part of our St. John’s family!
